Bai'at literally means "to promise" and derives from the root word meaning "to sell". Bai'at significa literalmente "a promessa", e deriva da raiz da palavra que significa "a vender". In English the term Bai'at is often translated as "Oath of Allegiance" or "Pledge". Em Inglês Bai'at o termo é muitas vezes traduzido como "Juramento de Fidelidade" ou "Promessa".

Taking Bai'at is Sunnah as our Holy Prophet (saw) took Bai'at from the Sahaba on many occasions. Tendo Bai'at é Sunnah como o nosso Santo Profeta (vi) assume a partir do Bai'at Sahaba em muitas ocasiões. In one narration our Holy Prophet (saw) said: Em uma narração nosso Santo Profeta (vi) disse:

'Will you not make bai’at to the Rasul of Allah?' 'Será que você não faça bai'at ao Rasul de Deus? " We stretched our hands and enquired: On what shall we make Bai’at to you, O Rasul of Allah? Temos nossas mãos esticadas e perguntou: Em que é que fazemos Bai'at a você, ó Rasul de Deus? He (saw) said. Ele (vi) disse. 'That you make the Ibaadat of Allah,- that you associate nothing with Him,- that you perform the five Salaat; that you hear and obey." "Isso você faça o Ibaadat de Deus, - que você associar nada com Ele, - que você executar os cinco Salaat; que você ouve, e obedecemos."

In the Qur'an, Allah (swt) says about Bai'at: No Alcorão, Deus (TS) diz que cerca de Bai'at:

"Verily, those who Swear Allegiance unto thee, O Muhammad (saw), in truth Swear Allegiance to Allah: The Hand of Allah is over their hands: then any one who violates his oath, does so to the harm of his own soul, and any one who fulfils what he has covenanted with Allah,- Allah will soon grant him a great Reward." "Certamente, aqueles que Fazer xingamentos Fidelidade a ti, ó Mohammad (vi), na verdade Fazer xingamentos fidelidade a Deus: A Mão de Deus está sobre as suas mãos: então qualquer um que viole o seu juramento, fá-lo para os danos da sua própria alma, e qualquer um que cumpra aquilo que ele tem comunhão com Deus, - Deus, em breve conceder-lhe uma grande recompensa. "

After the demise of the Holy Prophet (sallalahu alaihi wasallam) this Sunnah was assumed and practised by many elite Sahabah, on the authority of our Holy Prophet (saw). Após o desaparecimento do Santo Profeta (sallalahu alaihi wasallam) Sunnah esta foi assumida e praticada por muitos Sahabah elite, com a autoridade de nosso Santo Profeta (vi). These eminent Sahabah included Hadhrat Abu-bakr Siddiq (ra) & Hadhrat Ali (ra) and before they departed they also nominated their successful students to carry on this Sunnah. Estes eminentes Sahabah incluídos Hadhrat Abu-Bakr Siddiq (ra) & Hadhrat Ali (ra), e antes que eles partiram também nomeados os seus alunos a desenvolverem bem sucedidas sobre este Sunnah. Thus this tradition has been passed down from one generation to the next through an authentic chain of Friends of Allah (swt)..This chain is known as a Silsilah and these vary according to the Sufi Order . Assim, esta tradição tem sido transmitido de uma geração para outra através de uma autêntica cadeia de Amigos de Deus (TS) .. Esta série é conhecida como uma Silsilah e estas variam de acordo com a Ordem Sufi.

To enter a Sufi order one must do Bai'at to a Kamil Sheikh. Para introduzir uma ordem Sufi um deve fazer para uma Bai'at Kamil Sheikh.

There are two types of Bai'ah that one can perform: Existem dois tipos de Bai'ah que um pode executar:

Bai'ah al Barakah: This is where one initiates oneself into a spiritual order merely for the blessings of being part of the spiritual order of which has a direct link with the Holy Prophet (sallalahu alaihi wasallam) without a break in sequence. Bai'ah al Barakah: Esta é uma onde inicia-se em uma ordem meramente espiritual para as bênçãos de que fazem parte da ordem espiritual de que tem uma ligação directa com o Santo Profeta (sallalahu alaihi wasallam) sem uma pausa na seqüência. Bai'ah al Iradah / Bai'ah al Salikeen: This is where one "sells" one's self and surrenders completely to to the Friend of Allah (swt). Bai'ah al Iradah / Bai'ah al Salikeen: Este é um caso "vende" uma auto's e rende completamente ao que o amigo de Deus (TS). Similar to how the corpse is left in the hands of the ghassal' (washer). Semelhante à forma como o cadáver é deixado nas mãos do ghassal "(anilha). This Bai'ah leads one to receive both deen and dunya Spiritual Faiz . Isso leva um Bai'ah para receber tanto deen e dunya Espiritual Faiz. It is this very type of Bai'ah that was undertaken by the Sahaba upon the hands of the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and is also injuctioned in the Quran as it leads one to Allah (swt): É este mesmo tipo de Bai'ah que foi realizada pelo Sahaba mediante as mãos do Profeta (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) e também é injuctioned no Corão, uma vez que conduz a um Deus (TS):

"O you who believe, fear Allah and seek a means of approach unto him, and strive in His path so that you may attain success" "O que você acreditar, temei a Deus e procurar um meio de aproximação com ele, e se esforça em Seu caminho de forma que você pode alcançar êxito"
