Wali, plural awliya, is an arabic word meaning friend. Wali, awliya plurale, è una parola araba sensi amico. Awliya Allah, therefore, means Friends of Allah (swt). Awliya Allah, quindi, significa Amici di Allah (SWT).

Reference to the Friends of Allah (swt) is found in the Quran, Hadith Qudsi & Narrations of our Holy Prophet (saw). Riferimento agli amici di Allah (SWT) si trova nel Corano, Hadith Qudsi e narrazioni del nostro Santo Profeta (SAW).

We would, firstly, like to bring you to the attention of the following authentic hadith which has been narrated in Abu Daud that Our Holy Prophet (saw) said: Vorremmo, in primo luogo, come per portarvi a conoscenza dei seguenti hadith fede che è stata raccontata in Abu Daud che il nostro Santo Profeta (SAW) ha detto:

‘O people! 'O uomini! Listen, understand and know it well. Ascoltare, capire e conoscere bene. Allah has servants who are neither Prophets nor martyrs and whom the Prophets and martyrs yearn to be like, due to their seat and proximity in relation to Allah.... Allah ha agenti che non sono né martiri né Profeti e che i profeti e dei martiri anelano ad essere come, a causa della loro sede e di prossimità in relazione ad Allah ....

Our Holy Prophet (saw) then described these people and then read the following Ayah in which Allah (swt) says in the Qur'an: Il nostro Santo Profeta (SAW) poi descritto queste persone e quindi di leggere le seguenti Ayah in cui Allah (SWT) dice nel Corano:

"Behold! Verily on the Friends of Allah there is no fear nor shall they grieve" "Eccomi! Verità sulla Amici di Allah non vi è alcun timore non saranno afflitti"
Quran (Surah10: Verse 62) Corano (Surah10: Apocalisse 62)

Abu Huraira (ra) also reports a Hadith Qudsi in which our Holy Prophet (saw) informs us that Allah (swt) said: Abu Huraira (ra) registra anche una Hadith Qudsi in cui il nostro Santo Profeta (SAW) ci informa che Allah (SWT) ha detto:

'Whosoever acts with enmity towards a Friend of Mine, I will indeed declare war against him" 'Chi agisce con inimicizia verso un mio amico, mi infatti dichiarare guerra contro di lui "

We can therefore clearly conclude that the Friends of Allah (swt) are envied by, but are neither, Prophets or martyrs, who have no fear or grief and are loved & protected by Allah (swt). Possiamo quindi concludere chiaramente che il Amici di Allah (SWT) sono da invidiare, ma non sono né, profeti o martiri, che non hanno paura o dolore e sono amati e protetti da Allah (SWT).
